About Us
Phap Hoa Lion Dance is a non-profit lion dance team based in Adelaide, Australia. Founded over a decade ago as a subset of Phap Hoa Temple Youth Group (GDPT Phap Hoa), PHLD has now transformed into a team of over 40 young, dedicated and talented individuals. With our passions centred around youth engagement, personal fitness and traditional skills; PHLD has been fortunate enough to perform for acclaimed restaurants, corporate events and weddings locally and interstate. From the likes of Singapore Airlines and SkyCity Adelaide to Vietnam Restaurant and Empress Restaurant, PHLD has the capacity, experience and expertise for any event or performance. When you book with PHLD you know you are supporting a strong community. All proceeds are donated to Phap Hoa Buddhist Temple which supports community events, our heritage and culture. Proceeds are also donated to Phap Hoa Temple Youth Group, for their ongoing commitment to supporting young Buddhists in our community and beyond.
Our Clients
With over a decade of experience under our belt, we have performed at many venues, restaurants and events around Adelaide and interstate. From small family restaurants to large corporations, we have the capacity, experience and expertise to impress any audience. With well over 150 performances each year, PHLD continually develops our routines to be personalised for each event and audience. We are also the proud exclusive performing team for major public sites around Adelaide, like SkyCity Adelaide, Rundle Mall, Adelaide Arcade and Adelaide Airport. 2020 Bushfire Red Pocket Initiative
Thanks to your red pocket donations, We DONATED $5,695 to Kangaroo ISLAND
On Monday 24th February 2020, Phap Hoa Lion Dance, GDPT Phap Hoa, Phap Hoa Temple and the Unified Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation of Australia and New Zealand presented a donation of $55,696 to support victims of the bushfires in Kangaroo Island. PHLD and GDPT Phap Hoa are proud to have donated $5,695 to this charitable cause. We thank all our guests at our performances for donating so generously to our red pocket initiative. We hope to be able to continue to spread your generosity in the coming years.
2024 Out of Season Bookings
Even though the Lunar New Year season is over, it doesn’t mean we stop training and performing! PHLD continue to work during our offseason to maintain fitness, develop new techniques and innovate our lion dancing culture. Additionally, we continue to perform for a variety of events such as weddings, functions, cultural performances and school incursions. Meet our team of young, dedicated and talented lion dancers. Our proud team of over 40 performers, instrumentalists and support crew train every week to build not only on our skills as performers, but also build personal cardio strength and teamworking skills. Everyone chips in a little bit of their personality and skill to help us build out the PHLD Team as it is today. Our team is quickly expanding to our growing needs, and as such we welcome anyone who is interested in joining our PHLD family.
